Where can I find someone to proofread and help edit my scholarship essay?
I’m currently working on a 600 word essay for a college scholarship application. I’m desperately looking for someone to proofread it and help edit it, specifically someone who knows what colleges are looking for in scholarship essays. I’m not a bad writer; however, I’m used to writing fiction and reports, and am not really that experienced with narrative writing. The prompt given was “Write about a topic you think will help us get to know you better.”
There are a few things I think I need help with, mainly sentance structure (I have a tendancy to use run-on sentances), passive tone vs. active tone (I don’t really know how to differentiate between the two), and making my writing show my personality.
I would submit my essay to a professional editing business, but I don’t really have enough money. If anyone knows of a forum that offers editing help for free, or would be willing to help edit my essay (without plagirizing it) I’d be very grateful.
Sara,
I’ll be happy to try and help you if you like. I edit and rewrite papers for college and grad students for a living and generally they score A’s on work I have contributed to. I have helped to write a half dozen or so scholarship apps and about as many admissions essays. If you’d like me to look over your work or help you with it, send a draft of your paper to my email address: hickcrazy1@yahoo.com. Please send along a brief bio with your work. Mention hobbies, favorite arts-music, dance, painting etc, volunteer duties, languages, any class offices you have held.Things that let me know a bit about you and your academic career. Also let me know what you plan to major in.

An Essay on Free Will $34.48 In this stimulating and thought-provoking book, the author defends the thesis that free will is incompatible with determinism.
