I am self-publishing books for children and need a designer, ideas where I can find one?

I wrote a children's book and self-publish, but I'd like to find someone who can do some illustrations to go with my text … I need someone that can be done at a reasonable price or free as I am a student and can not afford to spend much $ $.

I do not know much about the subject, but I'm just going to suggest something, do not know if it's ridiculous or not lol. Maybe you can go to certain schools and examine some of the artworks of adolescents. So many people in my year, they're awesome with the creator of comic books and other things as well. Indeed, no one takes into account their talents, so you can find another student who has a knack for drawing?
